Q. How soon will the downloaded program expire?
Answer. The OneKaraoke program installs user license, QuickStart guide, user manual, sample song categories and music samples. This free download is a functional version that does NOT contain spyware, adware, virus, and will NEVER expire. The only limitations of the free download are as follows:
a. Up to 3 Song Categories each with 5 Songs will be listed;
b. Up to 5 songs can be queued at any time;
c. User Interface cannot be personalized;
d. Dual screen support is disabled;
By purchasing the license key the above limitations are removed. No re-installation is required after the purchase. [back to top]
Q. Can I use Infrared or RF keyboard?
Answer. Yes, any PC Keyboard, wired and wireless is ok. If you have Infrared keyboard, you have an option using a programmable handheld remote to operate OneKaraoke. W ehave a limited stock of pre-programmable handheld remote that works with your PC's infrared keyboard receiver.
Q. Can I use programmable handheld remote with my IrDA infrared receiver?
Answer. No. IrDA is low energy infrared signals that has very short operating distance, and is only suitable for use with mobile phones, PDA, etc. [back to top]
Q. How is the software licensed?
Answer. The license is granted to a PC for running the program, and it's enabled by purchasing a license key file that you will receive in email and saving it into your PC. Once saved, all limitations of the software are removed. Once a purchase is confirmed, you will receive full licensing instructions within 48 hours. [back to top]
Q. I prefer using kar files over CDG content, where can I obtain kar files from the Internet?
Answer. KAR files provides similar display as in CDG, and there are thousands of KAR resources in the Internet. You may try midikaraoke which has over 1780 .kar files to download. Note that you need to have Apple Quicktime (available for free) to play KAR files in OneKaraoke. [back to top]

Answer. Once you become our customer, future upgrades are free and you will be notified when it's available. [back to top]
Q. Any content come along with OneKaraoke, and can I buy it from you?
Answer. No. OneKaraoke is a dedicated karaoke playing engine and we don't supply or sell content. It's users' responsibility to acquire legal content themselves and to ensure they have proper right in using the content for their particular purpose. [back to top]
Q. What's the development progress in OneKaraoke?
Answer. We received many suggestions on enhancing the program and these comments are much welcomed. We are working on other new features such as song/time credit interface, web cam integration, audio recording, etc. Once new feaures are available our existing customers will be the first to obtain upgrade. Setup Issues
Q. Can I hook up a TV to my computer for large screen display?
Answer. Yes, if your PC has video output facility, you can hook it up and display on TV. Please be aware ordinary TV has lower resolution than a computer display, we recommend using a Plasma, LCD TV, or video projector which has VGA input for sharp, large screen display. [back to top]
Q. Can I convert CDG materials to mpg format?
Answer. Yes, there are shareware converters that can convert CDG content into mpg or avi files. [back to top]
Q. Can I useOneKaraoke to play my own content saved on another directory or stored on CD/DVD?
Answer. Yes, you can make a "shortcut" to your directories and define them as song categories folders as usual. This way you dont's have to store the content in the same drive as your OneKaraoke program. It can even retrieved content stored in LAN storage. [back to top]
Q. I have audio karaoke content in mid, mp3 and wma format, how can I play it along with lyrics?
Answer. OneKaraoke has facility for displaying lyrics along with audio files. All you have to do is the save the lyrics as text file into the "lyrics" folder in C:|OneKaraoke\ with the same name as the audio file, when done, when the audio fie is played, the text will be displayed on screen. For example, if you have an audio file called Roses.mpg, you create a text file (containing its lyrics) called Roses.txt and save into the "lyrics" directory. [back to top]
Using OneKaraoke
Q. How can I quit the program? The Esc key doesn't seem to close and there is no Exit button to click...
Answer. Press the [Q] key will quit the program. This can also be disabled because OneKaraoke is designed for different usages and there may be scenario that requires unattended operation and it's not desirable to exit the program no matter what. [back to top]
Q. When the program starts up I received an error prompt and cannot proceed to user interface.
Answer. You may be using old Microsoft DirectX version in your PC. Like many advanced multiedia applications, OneKaraoke requires DirectX® Runtime 8.1 driver or above. You can upgrade DirectX by visiting Microsoft web site: http://www.microsoft.com/directx
Q. I just installed OneKaraoke and put many files in the correct folders. I found only 5 songs were displayed in Song List & Song Queue, and the up/down scrolling is not working.
Answer. This is some of the free download's limitation. Since only 5 songs are displayed there is no need to scroll the Song List. [back to top]
Q. Whenever I play certain content I received an error.
Answer. You may have a partly corrupted content file. As a rule of thumb, you may test the content by playing it in Windows Media Player and you may likely receive an error prompt of some kind as well. You will need to re-acquire (or re-encode, or fix) the content. [back to top]
Q. For my convenience, can I shutdown the PC from within OneKaraoke?
Answer. Press the keys [8][8][8][8] will shutdown the PC. Note that this command digits can be changed, and can be disabled as well. [back to top]
